Thanks to G!

One thing people who have been in the computer world for a while ignore is forwards... of all kinds. If it says forward, it goes straight to the junk folder. But we are rejecting forwards a little too soon... because this one is pretty funny. And if it weren't for my Gma... the new Queen O' Forwards... I would have never found this one.

Enjoy!

These sentences ( with all the BLOOPERS ) actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced in church services:

So Scott and I are finally starting to get situated in our new place.

We have the habit down of referring to our house as the "Fancy, Bavarian, Romantic, Tudor, Log Cabin House just west of Ronald MacDonald." This is to cover our bets that whomever we're talking to will know our place by one of these clever descriptions.

I'm finally remembering that my last name is Hannay. Ha ha... I do have a dumb story though. I haven't told Scotty this yet... but I was given a name of a woman in our neighborhood to get in contact with, so I called her and introduced myself. "Hi this is Lindsey Hansen." Lindsey HANSEN! I got my own last name wrong! I think I was debating in my mind whether I was Lindsey Hannay or Lindsey Petersen.... So I'm Lindsey Hansen. Uggh. I'm so dumb.

We've hit the point where it's no longer exciting to have mail in our box when it says "To Current Resident" on it. At first we were just happy to get anything.

We had Matt and Laurel over. Our first guests! Once they left we celebrated our successful first go around.

We've found the right consistency of blankets to cover us at night so Scott's not hot, and I'm not cold. This balance involves the fuzzy blanket being at the foot of the bed. I don't even use it! But knowing it's at the foot of the bed fools me into thinking I'm warm enough, lulling me into a false sense of security for my slumber.

We don't have a kitchen trash can. And our TV might sit on a cooler forever. But we have a blog. This fact alone affirms our status as married and settled, I think.

SNOWSHOING WITH ADAM AND BECKA

I've got to get the good group pictures from Adam and Becka... but here's a couple for starters to document the day. I love Adam and Becka! I'm so happy we were able to spend President's Day together. It was a total "Scott Hannay, this is your life" kind of day. It was a Santa Barbara motif. We snowshoed with Adam and Becka down in Rock Canyon. It was a beautiful day, and we had so much fun talking as we thwapped around on our snowshoes. An old man let us use his homemade sled, and we swooshed, crashed, swooshed, crashed, for quite a ways. That night we met Andy, Jen, Dennis, Ricki, Toby, Andrew Walker, and a few others of Scott's Santa Barbara buds for dinner in Park City. I'm loving Utah's beautiful winter, being a native, but I think Scott's getting anxious to get on his bike in the sunshine. We're off to Saint George next weekend for some climbing, so hopefully it'll warm up for that.

JOHNNY'S GOING TO MILAN!

I'm so excited! Johnny opened his mission call last week, and he's going to Milan! They don't come better than Johnny. I think the world of this boy. Johnny will be an amazing missionary, and Italy has got the best food. We'll all go pick him up in two years!

KANOSH?

A couple weeks ago Scott and I met up with some old friends and new friends for a quick trip to Kanosh. Where's Kanosh? It was fun! We pulled into our scenic campsite in the middle of the night, started a fire, pitched the tent, and bundled up for a night in the snow. We were toasty and warm all night! In the morning, we drove to the hot springs and made a gourmet "river style" breakfast in the parking lot. We mixed pancake batter in a nalgene, and cooked them on the griddle. With bacon as an appetizer, and eggs... we had an awesome start to the day. When we started swimming, we saw some scuba divers who let us use their gear. It was so fun! Scott and I have moved scuba certification way up on our list of things to do with the money we don't have. Before the drive home, we played in the nearby lava fields and celebrated our new friend Lindsey's birthday! It was a fun and random little road trip.

COSTA RICA!

These pictures are for my Grandma. Sorry for not updating sooner, G! I didn’t realize anyone looked at our blog! Fun!
These pictures are from our Honeymoon in Costa Rica! We had so much fun traveling together, and we were both so ready to get out of the country and speak another language! Scott is so much fun to travel with because he makes friends with EVERYONE, and he knows so much! He knows that the junkiest, cheapest looking places serve the best food. He knows that making friends with the locals gets you the best experience with the culture. We got to try so many cool fruits and sugar cane, and we learned so much about the Costa Rican culture through the random friends we made. We rode horses in the jungle and on the beach, we did a zip line in the jungle, we went surfing, we four-wheeled, we played at the beach, and Scott bribed a cop out of a speeding ticket. We had so much fun trying all the different fruits and batidos, and we stayed in the most beautiful house with an iguana living on our roof! Costa Rica was the most perfect way to start our marriage, and it just made us both realize how anxious we are for more adventures!
