A friend of mine told me today that she spent the weekend in the mountains writing in her journal.
I was SO jealous.
We retrieved some boxes from my parents' house this weekend. One box, labeled, "Lindsey's journals" contained 34 journals... most of them filled front to back.
Among those journals I found a paper plate. I was on the Colorado River, guiding a scout trip, when I opened my mission call. I had to write something somewhere, to commemorate the moment, and the only thing I had was a paper plate.
As I flipped through some of those old journals, I found scribbles on napkins, tickets, and programs. I used to write all the time, anywhere I could.
And then life got busier. I have so much more to write about, and much less time to write.
About a week ago, I started a different blog. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, but I felt like I needed something fresh and new to house my new thoughts and feelings about my new little life - which I love!
I've been writing more often, but not often enough. I hope my new little space will become something beautiful. And maybe I'll share it will all of you when it does.
In the meantime, some beautiful things live here, too. Like this one:
The wind gets in his eyes and whooshes through his hair. And he giggles and grins the entire time!
Is it bad that I kinda don't want anything to happen at home when I am at work? I don't want to miss this guy whooshing! Glad we have pictures! Thanks Linds.
ReplyDeleteNothing happens while you're gone that's even HALF as cool as his favorite game of closet when you're home. By the way, though... you were there for this pic! It's from St. George over Easter. I'm just really late on downloading our camera for more current pics.
ReplyDeleteYou are a really great writer Lindsey. You make me want to write:) I can't wait until you share!
