We had such a fun weekend. We didn't take a lot of pictures, but it was a busy weekend filled with wonderful friends and family.
On Friday we went out to Buy Buy Baby and bought our double stroller and a few things we still needed for Miss Brooklyn. We are not shoppers, and neither are our kids. So glad that long evening is behind us! We LOVE our new stroller, so it was worth it. We went to Noodles & Co. for dinner, and Peter out-ate us both. Sometimes I wonder how he can be so skinny! But then I remember that he must take after Uncle Doug and Uncle John...
On Saturday we woke up early and made our way down to the Farmer's Market. We love the Farmer's Market. We like to go practically every week. This week was fun because we met the Barber's downtown and walked around with them. We had a little lunch down at the Farmer's Market and made our way home for Peter and Brooklyn's nap. We also wrote an ode to the stroller. It was so great to have down at the crowded market!
While the kids slept, we spent time in our yard and garden. It is so fun to start seeing the results of the garden pop through. We still have to wait for a lot of our favorite things (watermelon!), but we are loving our loot. There is just something so cool about eating something you grew.
We got a few more things done around the house and then made our way downtown again for the SLC Art Festival, an annual favorite. We met up with Missy and Josh for the Festival and grabbed dinner afterward. We have wanted to hang out with Missy and Josh for months, but things always get too busy! So it was really fun to have the chance to spend some time with them. Did I mention we love our stroller?
I love summer in Salt Lake. It's a little harder to catch everything with our kids, but Salt Lake is filled with concerts, outdoor movies, festivals, fairs, markets, and races throughout the summer. I remember when I used to work downtown Scott and I would meet up at lunch time for a little outdoor concert in the middle of the day. We love sitting on a blanket up at the Capitol on Friday nights. We love going to the rodeo and the local fairs. We love the concerts down at Pioneer Park and Galivan where we've seen Iron and Wine and Bright Eyes, but we will probably sit those out this summer.
Mostly, our summer will be filled with swimming, the zoo, hikes, and having fun in our yard.
Summer is so much fun.
This is a pretty Peter-predominant post. While Peter was outside mowing the lawn, working with his water table, drawing with chalk, pushing his wheelbarrow, using the hose, digging with his shovel, and sitting in his truck...
...his sister took advantage of the peace and quiet (Noisy brother is outside!) and took a little nap in the clean laundry.
These two melt my heart!
