We were thrilled to find out that Scott was off work on July 3rd and 4th, so we had a fun weekend of many mini staycations. It's a word, squiggly red line.
We found a field called Afton Apples that has fruit picking throughout the summer. Right now is strawberry season, and we were so excited to go a berry pickin'
It's actually funny how excited we got about gardening, when our gardening days of yore have been a little overwhelming. Scott forgets sometimes that he wouldn't actually like to be a farmer in real life.
Bringing home a box of berries, though, was pretty convincing. Peter had a blast finding red berries and chucking them in the box. Brooklyn squawked the whole time, dying to eat every berry she could see. We had a great time outside, together as a family. It was fun to do something new and different. It was the perfect kick-off to the weekend ahead.
Ummmm. Without mountains in view, the sky is just. so. big. It is just so gorgeous.
